Independent research project

Independent researchingSuitable for level 6 students, this session enables participants to apply a recognised process for reviewing the literature and ensures that they are aware of and know how to access the range of sources available to them.  

Students will learn how to develop an effective search strategy, and how to evaluate which sources of information are relevant to their research project.

Subject-specific resources

Academic subjectsSessions can be built around searching for either specific subject materials or within a specific academic database.   

Potential sessions include: 

  • Finding financial, company and market information 

  • Locating legal materials for non-lawyers 

  • Searching CINAHL and MEDLINE more effectively
