This page includes a video and step-by-step instructions about how to access resource lists for your modules.
Your resource list is an indispensable tool that brings together everything you should read for your module. Resource lists are a brilliant way to start organising your research.
You can access resource lists within your course’s Moodle site, Library Search and the Resource Lists website.
Accessing a resource list within Moodle
The quickest way to access the resource lists for a particular module is to locate them within the module's Moodle page:
1- Click the Course Index drawer button in the upper left corner of the page if it is not open yet.
2- Look for Library Resource lists in the index. There can be one or multiple lists for a given course.
Finding resource list entries with Library Search
Starting with a module code
You can access recommended reading materials directly in Library Search: enter the course or module code in the search box.
The Library Search box is also located in the upper right corner of every Library guide page.
In the search results, recommended items appear with a RESOURCE LIST badge.
Certain reading materials such as links to websites will not show up in Library Search.
You should always refer to Moodle or the Resource Lists website to view the resources recommended by your tutor in their entirety.
Starting with the tutor’s name
Alternatively, you can search for all the materials recommended by a particular tutor:
- Enter your tutor’s full name
- Select the Resource Lists option
- Filter by the module name
Finding a list on the Resource Lists website
Tutors use a dedicated website to compose lists which they embed into Moodle. You can consult this website linked below if you prefer.
To find a list, enter a module code or a tutor's name in the search box located at the top of the page.
You tutor may organise resources under different headings such as Essential, Recommended, Weekly or by topic.
To access electronic resources, click the “View Online” link.
To locate physical resources and check availability, click the “Available at […]” link.
If you have any problems accessing or viewing your Resource Lists, please contact a Library advisor at the helpdesk or online.
