Computing
The Computer Science degree programme is a BCS and Engineering Council accredited course. The BCS is licensed to award a number of professional registrations to its members, including RITTech and Chartered IT Professional (CITP). The university is home to a Cisco Networking Academy, a Microsoft Academy Centre and an Amazon Web Services Academy.
Cyber Security
The UK Cyber Security Council now has the power to set industry standards and award professional titles for those working in the cyber profession. There are three professional titles aligned to the Council’s professional standard: Associate, Principal and Chartered. The Cyber Career Framework provides details of the pathways for the 16 specialisms in cyber security.
The University is an academic partner of the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec). Members of CIISec can apply to obtain professional registration with the UK Cyber Security Council in certain specialisms within the Cyber Career Framework.
Computer Networks and Security
Both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses deliver the latest in computing, network and security technologies, with the opportunity to gain additional accreditation from Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, Palo Alto and the Linux Professional Institute. The university is also home to Cisco Systems, Juniper, Palo Alto and the Microsoft Academy Centres.
Computer Games Technology
The undergraduates programme is accredited by TIGA, representing the UK games industry. The TIGA accreditation system was introduced in 2015, accrediting the very best undergraduate and postgraduate university courses that are producing industry ready graduates.
