How we can support you

Your specialist Collection Management and Engagement Librarian can support you with any of your library queries.

The different ways we can support you:

  • Offering guidance on selecting inclusive material for your course or module.
  • Attending and contributing to your Faculty, College or subject meetings.
  • Advising when you are developing a new course.
  • Supporting you at validation events.
  • Training and advising on best practice for Resource Lists (reading list system).
  • Advising on open access publishing.

How to request resources

You can request resources in a variety of ways:

  • Add all resources which support your teaching to your module Resource Lists. We will ensure any newly added resources are made available, including digitised chapter requests.
  • Purchase suggestions (books, sheet music, DVDs, etc.) which are not for teaching purposes can be requested via Your Choice@BCUlibrary.
  • You can request a subscription to new journals or e-resources (MS Forms).
  • To request a copy of a journal article, or to borrow a book from another institution, use the Inter-Library Loan service.

Collection Management Policy

We have a e-first policy and aim wherever possible to supply material in a digital format.
