Welcome to the University Archive & Special Collections Centre at Birmingham City University.
We hold the University Archive, which documents the history of the University. This Archive includes sources of information about the earlier colleges and other educational institutions which form part of our history. The Centre also houses Special Collections. You can find more information about our Special Collections here.
There are also a number of Records, such as past prospectuses, which are contained within the University Archive & Special Collections Centre.
We can help to identify appropriate sources of information for enquiries and projects relating to the collections we hold.
We are located in the Curzon building (C003) at the City Centre Campus.
Access to Special Collections and Archives is subject to request and a pre-arranged appointment system.
Usual staffed hours are:
Monday to Thursday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm
Friday 9.00 am - 4.30 pm

Everyone is welcome to use the archives. We will need notice to retrieve the items you wish to view. At present, we ask for a two week notice period but we will let you know if we can arrange a visit sooner than this.
In order to preserve the materials we ask that you:
