Leather bound Birmingham and Midland Institute registers, 1936-1947

The University Archive documents the history of the University, including the early Schools and College on which the institution was founded.

We hold central records of the founding colleges - The College of Commerce, School of Music and School of Art.

The Polytechnic years are documented along with the period in which the institution became the University of Central England.

The University Archive is a live collection; we continue to take key documents and items of interest which relate to Birmingham City University.

The University Archive comprises registers, minute books, prospectuses, photographs, news excerpts and newsletters, and other key records which chart our institutional history.
