Academic and Practice Enquiry (ACPE): Welcome

This guide has been designed to help you make the most of the resources available from the Library to support you in finding information for your Academic and Practice Enquiry (AcPE).

What is the AcPE?

  • It is an integrative literature review which considers issues of practice change.
  • The topic you choose must relate to your field of nursing.
  • You need to find research articles which answer your research question and these must include primary research. A maximum of 2 secondary sources of literature can be included.
  • Once you have the articles you will group the findings in 2-4 themes which directly provide answers to your research question.
  • You will make a recommended change for nursing practice based on the themes and then critically discuss a process of integrating your proposed change.
