Journals cover a range of sources, including newspapers; magazines, professional and scholarly journals (including peer-reviewed). News and research are usually published first in journals, so they are useful to keep up-to-date and to discover what the latest research is within your subject area. An academic or scholarly journal article is usually well researched by the author, so you may find a useful reference list at the end of the article which directs you to further reading.
Journal articles are available inline through the Library Search. Print copies of some journals are held in the campus libraries

You can also use the Advanced Search.
If you are looking for a journal article which is not available through Birmingham City University, you can ask us to obtain it through the Inter-Library Loans system - just complete the online request form.
